Property taxes in Arizona are really not that complicated. The tax for each year is payable in two installments: the first installment is due on October 1 and delinquent if not paid by 5 pm. on November 1.
The part that gets a little confusing is payment of the second installment. The second installment of this year's taxes is due March 1, and delinquent if not paid by May 1, of next year. So today you’re paying the tax for the first half of 2016. You don’t have to pay the tax for the second half of 2016 until March or April of next year, 2017. You can also avoid paying interest if you pay the full amount of the 2016 tax by December 31. If the tax for the full year is $100 or less, then you must pay the full amount by December 31.
